The next special event of Apple which is scheduled to take place next week, is expected to present some “Scarry fast” Mac updates.

Apple sent alerts to the media on Tuesday, inviting them online to watch a special Apple event, subtitled “Scary fast”, which will take place on October 30.

In an unusual move for Apple, the event is scheduled for 5:00 PM PT, 8:00 PM ET, and 1:00 AM BST. This time period deviates from their typical event schedule, this is an extremely late show for the iPhone maker.

The event is expected to unveil new Mac models, including a 24-inch iMac that is long overdue for an update. The iMac still runs on M1 chips lagging behind other products in the Apple Silicon lineup, meanwhile, everything else has already moved on to the M2 chip.

While the other Macs are expected to rely on M3 chips, it appears unlikely that Macs using this chip will make an appearance at the event. Rumors reports suggested that, as of Sunday, a new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lined powered by M3 chips are at important stages of mass production but won’t be unveiled until early 2024.

The animated logo on the Apple events page change into the “Face” icon used by the macOS Finder app, is a subtle hint that Mac will be featured during the event.
